HR Management Department

Functional Responsibilities  
The Human Resource Management Department is responsible for ensuring the development, implementation and application of the HR strategy. It is the main arm of the HR Directorate responsible for people management issues. The department ensures the recruitment of the right caliber of employees, their deployment to areas of need and takes charge of other HR management activities from the point of entry into the Ghana Health Service to the point of exit.

Deputy Director

Mr. Peter Obiri-Yeboah is a highly motivated young man with over twelve years experience in human resource management practice in the health sector of Ghana. He has been involved in the development, dissemination and implementation of various human resource management policies and programs and has, in many occasions, served as a link between the Human Resource Directorate and other external agencies. His hard work, commitment to duty and ability to initiate interventions to advance the course of the HR Directorate have earned him the respect, commendation and recognition of his superiors, colleagues and other staff of the Ghana Health Service. He has served as HR management practitioner at both national and regional levels and so has a complete understanding of the human resource management issues within the health sector of Ghana.
Mr. Obiri-Yeboah holds Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) from the GIMPA Law School, Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA - HR Management Option) from the University of Ghana Business School, Post-Graduate Diploma in Public Administration (PGDPA) from the Public Services College, GIMPA and Bachelor of Arts (Hons) from the University of Ghana. He is a member of the Institute of Human Resource Management Practitioners, Ghana.
