Confirmed ebola case in DR Congo, Ghana Health Service alerts

The Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC)  has confirmed and declared an outbreak of Ebola Virus Disease (EVD). According to the World Health Organization, as of 8th May 2018, two (2) out of five(5) samples collected from the suspected patients tested positive for EVD. 
This has necessitated the Ghana Health Service (GHS) to issue a press statement to alert and educate the general public on key facts on Ebola to ensure preventive measures are adhered to.

▪initiated mechanisms to update preparedness and response plans at all the levels for EVD
▪initiated mechanisms to sensitize the health staff and create necessary public awareness 
Ebola Virus is transmitted to humans usually from wildlife like monkey, chimpanzee, bats, etc, but can spread from infected person to the other. It can be prevented by; 
▪Avoiding contact with infected wildlife as monkey, chimpanzee, bats, antelope, etc
